Eyebag removal could be for you if you notice any of the following telltale signs around your eyes:
- Excess skin obscuring the natural fold of the upper eyelid
- Loose skin hanging from the upper eyelids, making the eyes look tired
- Excess skin (eye bag) of the lower eyelids
- Droopiness of the lower eyelids sometimes referred to as eye bag.
Before and After
During the procedure, a precise incision is placed in the crease of the upper eyelid. Excess skin is removed along with a thing strip of loose muscle, sometimes the herniated fat is removed or cauterized to reduce its size. The skin is then closed with a fine suture.
Blepharoplasty not only corrects a cosmetic issue, but a functional one as well. Many patients with excess hanging skin on their upper eyelid are able to regain normal vision after surgery. For many, simply applying makeup without maneuvering around the excess skin is refreshing in and of itself.
