The bulbous, round tip
‘Whoever knows how to operate on the nasal tip knows how to perform a Rhinoplasty’
This is indeed a common saying among Rhinoplasty Surgeons and reflects the challenge that the correction of the nasal tip can mean.
A thinner, more defined and elegant tip is one of the most commonly requested changes by patients. There are two main factors that contribute to a round, bulbous appearance of the nasal tip. The first is a thick skin which in some cases can be thinned with great caution. The most common one though is the shape and the bulk of the underlying cartilages. This means that the lower lateral cartilages of the nose may be too round, to bulky, to distant to each other or even asymmetric. There are several techniques of correcting these deformities but one should keep in mind that the cartilage is the skeleton of the nose that gives support and protects its function. For this reason it must be treated very carefully by a well-trained specialized Surgeon in order to offer optimum results with minimal risk. In cases of too bulky or rounded lower lateral cartilages, trimming of their upper (cephalic) part is a very efficient technique. Nevertheless, this needs to be done with great caution since aggressive excision can compromise the structural support of the nose.
How can a nasal tip be refined?
This a short overview of the most important techniques that the Surgeon can use for this purpose.
In cases of too bulky or rounded lower lateral cartilages, trimming of their upper (cephalic) part is a very efficient technique. Nevertheless, this needs to be done with great caution since aggressive excision can compromise the structural support of the nose.
Lateral Crural Strut Graft
This technique is also very efficient in dealing with a bulbous tip. Strut grafts are usually taken from the nasal septum and are sutured underneath the convex lower lateral cartilages. The cartilages are flattened and straightened thus resulting in a thinner, less round nasal tip.
Tip defining sutures
These are sutures that are placed trans and inter-domaly. This means that, depending on the case, they manage to sharpen each dome separately (trans) but also to bring the two domes together (inter). As a result a thinner, unified and more defined tip can be achieved. In addition, these sutures can pull the lower lateral cartilages downward to help flatten them and reduce any bulbosity.
The so called ‘shield’ graft is, as a principle, harvested from the nasal septum or the ear and is sutured appropriately on the lower lateral cartilages. It is an excellent way of providing more definition as well as slight projection and length to an amorphous tip that is usually covered by thick skin.
Conclusively, refinement of the tip of the nose is a challenging procedure that requires deep knowledge of the anatomy and the mechanics of the nasal skeleton. A thorough assessment and a sincere discussion with the patient before surgery are crucial for a delightful outcome. The techniques that we analyzed, together with numerous others allow an experienced, appropriately trained Surgeon to achieve excellent results in terms of both aesthetics and functionality.

LIVE PRESENTATION PDO MODEL
Do you sometimes worry that you appear a little tired when you look in the mirror?
Is your face starting to sag here and there?
Feel like you could do with a ‘lift’, but you’re too young or apprehensive about a surgical face lift?
Well, Harley Street Elite Clinic might have the answer for you – the Elite Face Lift.
Don’t worry though, it’s a 100% non-invasive and non-surgical technique which uses a unique combination of thread lift, platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy and botulinum toxin.
We use this special programme of treatments, which are more effective when used together than on their own, to achieve improvement in facial contouring; addressing sagging skin in the cheeks, brows and jawline, leaving you with a result much like a surgical face lift.
When we get to that certain age we can start to sag and lose firmness, even ex-swimmers can have sagginess after muscle loss under the arm. How great that we now have a procedure to lift the skin and leave it firm and tight again, all this without doing any surgery!
Lipolysis non surgical procedure for fat dissolve
In aesthetic word there are a lot of innovative approaches to shape the body without surgery. Sometimes diet and exercise are time-tested methods for improving how you look and feel, but they are not always able to combat persistent fat deposits.
One of them called lipolysis injection which can help to reduce unwanted fat and dissolve cellulite.
Nowadays there are many types of this injection some of them including combination of vitamins and acids. A Lipolysis injection contains a solution of lipotropic nutrients that are made up of one or more of the following fat burning compounds: choline, inositol, methionine, amino acids, vitamin b12 and other vitamins and minerals. Each of these properties are important because they each have a key role in utilising fat, distributing energy, and removing toxins from the body.
Most popular aesthetic procedures for Men
Recently reported in The HarleyStreet Journal in the survey was discovered that a quarter of men are having non invasive treatments to reward themselves.
Here are the TOP 7 men’s treatments that are growing in demand and popularity
1. Botox, also known as botulinum toxin, is a non-invasive injectable treatment used to rejuvenate the face. Botox works by relaxing the underlying muscles that cause the skin to crease and develop lines or wrinkles. Botox is considered to be one of the safest and most widely researched cosmetic products available today.
Non-surgical nose reshaping – A revolutionary technique for Asian nose transformation.
Non-surgical nose reshaping or non-surgical rhinoplasty is a medical procedure in which injectable fillers, most commonly hyaluronic acid ones like Revanesse, Restylane and Juvederm are used to alter and shape a person’s nose without invasive surgery.
PDO face and body thread lift is non-invasive anti ageing solution.
Every morning we look at our face in the mirror and we see the flaws in our skin and appearance in general. Anything from wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes to drooping corners around the mouth, deep nasolabian folds and marionette lines around the lips.
